Dear Church,
For those of you who have not experienced North Carolina Spring before, I apologize on behalf of our state for the excessive pollen and extreme changes in temperature. But do not worry, soon it will be hot all the time.
March Recap:
This past month we took the youth students to go play paintball. It was an exciting group activity and everyone had a lot of fun.
The youth group’s leadership team – Servants And Leaders Team (SALT) completed their first group trip this past week. We went to the Museum of the Bible, the National Zoo in Washington DC, and hiked in Great Falls National Park. The church van broke down on the way home, but Pastor Cho and Pastor Jeoung came and rescued us. Thankfully, the van was fixed without much difficulty. Besides the fun activities we did together, we also had very good discussions about what leadership and discipleship really mean, and how our youth group needs to grow in our welcoming and spiritual maturity. It was a busy three days, but very fruitful. I’m excited to see how the leaders apply the things that we learned during the trip.
Also, this Easter, we are so proud to have two different youth students receive baptism. Please help us in congratulating Lily Jung (12th) and Nayoung Kim (8th) for making a public profession of faith and expressing a desire to become full members of God’s church!
No Events This Month?
Originally, I had a bowling night planned on Friday, April 19th. But after doing some research (looking at locations and asking the children what they thought), I think it would be better if we turned our attention to some other activity besides bowling. This month there will be no planned outreach event.
However, I have been talking with some youth students about painting a mural on the back wall of the Green Room where the elementary school students do their worship service. I will discuss what times work best for the students who have already signed up to help with this project and announce those times to all the youth. This project will require lots of help and will take multiple painting sessions. We can use anyone, even people without great artistic skill to complete it.

Prayer Requests
- As some of you may already know, my wife, Jeanie, is pregnant! Our baby girl is due August 13th.
- Please pray for our youth leaders to apply well the lessons they learned during the SALT team trip so we can grow a beautiful, thriving youth group that is faithful to our mission: to train up disciples who love God, love one another, and love the world.
- Please pray for our teacher and volunteer recruitment efforts. If you know anyone who may be appropriate to be trained as a Sunday school teacher, please let me know directly!
