Dear Church,

I hope you and your families are doing well. Summer is here! Last Saturday was the hottest day  Our youth group has gone from having ~50 weekly participants down to ~35 members.

Summer Prayer Nights

As part of our youth group’s 2024 prayer focus, this summer we will be holding a youth activity and prayer meeting every other Wednesday evening from 7pm to 8:30pm. Each meeting will feature an initial game or activity followed by a short reflection on a Psalm and an extended time of prayer. The dates are as follows: 7/3, 7/17, 7/31, and 8/7.

 

Here is a picture of a group trip we did to Cookout after the last prayer meeting to get milkshakes. I was honestly impressed by the kids during the prayer time. I was expecting them to be shy and unwilling to pray, but I found their sincerity and joy to be so encouraging. I’m looking forward to the next meeting. 

Baptist Week of Service

The North Carolina Baptist Association organizes a week of service where Baptist churches in NC are encouraged to take part in some sort of volunteer service activity in order to show that we care about our communities and desire the reputation of God’s church to be lifted in the eyes of our neighbors. Pastor Cho has challenged the Youth and EM to take participate this year. So on Saturday, July 27^th at 9am, we will gather youth and EM members together to serve our community in some way. Please mark this date on your calendars and send your children to learn the value of being Jesus’ hands and feet to our community.

Summer Retreat

In case you have not heard, the summer retreat is officially moved to August 12-14^th and the cost has been reduced to $90 with church assistance. VBS Volunteers

The Hanmaum Elementary Department is looking for volunteers from the youth group to sign up to help out with this summer’s VBS on August 1st and 2nd at 5:30-8:45 and August 3rd at 10am - 2pm. Personal Updates

The baby is growing and kicking well. Jeanie is handling the pregnancy like a professional. Our baby’s due date is mid-August. Please continue to pray for her healthy development and safe delivery. 

Prayer Requests
